Winsing, a leading Chinese animation company for over 15 years, is bringing its most popular properties in China – some of which are about to launch on international markets – to stand E1D05 at Licensing Expo China.
Winsing has a number of proven winners to show to exhibitors at both events, most notably GG Bond, which has already inspired 14 successful series in its home market, and GOGO Bus, whose third series is arriving on Chinese TV this autumn, along with Doby and Disy, Crazy Candies and Metalions.
Series 15 of GG Bond is now in the planning stages. There are also five GG Bond feature films; the latest reached Chinese cinemas this summer and is also showing on pay-per-view on Malaysian channel Astro First. Winsing hopes to announce an international theatrical distribution partner soon. In addition this hit series has inspired an enormously popular and award-winning live show and dedicated theme park areas.
GG Bond has also inspired a massive and very successful licensing campaign that has brought toys, snacks, houseware, footwear, babycare, games and children’s books to the Chinese market – and much more is being planned. The total market value of the brand in China is estimated to exceed $US600million.
Winsing has also enjoyed success with the engrossing and educational stories of Doby and Disy, Crazy Candies, an animated comedy for four-to-eight-year-olds, and the action-adventure series for kids, Metalions. All three programmes have already been released in more than 50 countries and regions. In addition, Winsing has begun working with Bradford Licensing, an affiliate of Licensing Management International, to bring Crazy Candies licensed product to overseas markets.
And that’s not all. Already a big hit in its home market, the new animated children’s show, GOGO Bus, whose third series is arriving this autumn, tells the story of Gordon, the talking school bus who transports children from home to nursery. Gordon protects and guides the children, helping them to fit in socially and deal with everyday problems. This is a new approach to edutainment, combining social and emotional learning (SEL) and some lovable supporting characters with an exciting central character – an artificial intelligence (AI) school bus with the power to transform into other vehicles.
A fast-growing licensing campaign has seen a strong retail performance for GOGO Bus, led, of course, by toys. Winsing will now be putting a big promotional push behind this delightful series, and is seeking partners to distribute the series in other markets.
All these properties, plus continuing licensing growth, will be highlighted at Licensing Expo China by Winsing.
Organized by UBM China, Licensing Expo China aims to connect the most influential entertainment, character, fashion, art and corporate brand owners and agents with consumer goods manufacturers, licensees, retailers and distributors.
Echo Gu, Vice President of Winsing Animation, says: “GG Bond, GOGO Bus, Doby and Disy, Crazy Candies and Metalions have a massive following and a strong licensing presence in China. We’re looking forward enormously to meeting new and established partners to discuss our exciting plans for these wonderful properties at stand E1D05 at Licensing Expo China.”
